At Legacy Enterprise, you can rent a car if you are 21 or older. While most major agencies require drivers to be 25, we welcome responsible adults beginning at age 21.

To rent a vehicle from Legacy Rentals, you must meet the following criteria:

Age Requirement: Be at least 21 years old.

Driver’s License: Provide a valid, government-issued driver’s license with a clear photo.

Proof of Income: Submit a valid document that includes your full name, current residential address, and a recent date (issued within the last 30–60 days).

Accepted Proof of Income Documents:

Recent pay stub

Recent bank statement

W-2 form

1099 form

Bookkeeping records

Social Security or pension statements

Tax return (Form 1040)

Profit and loss statement

Note: All documents must be recent and clearly display your name and address for verification purposes.

To insure your rental car with your personal auto insurance, please provide your insurance card and the declaration page of your policy.

Your auto insurance must be eligible for transferable coverage and include full comprehensive and collision coverage.

All insurance information will be verified during the booking process.

Please be advised that all rentals require a security deposit.

The deposit will be refunded within 1-4 days after the vehicle is returned, pending inspection for any damages and signs of smoking.

You will receive a full refund of your deposit if all rental terms are adhered to, including timely return of the vehicle to the designated location.

Please note that the deposit will be forfeited in the following circumstances:

If the vehicle is impounded by law enforcement for any reason.

If the vehicle is driven by anyone other than the authorized renter.

Please be advised that all vehicles are restricted from leaving the state of North Carolina.

If a vehicle crosses the North Carolina state border, it will be automatically disabled, and the security deposit will be forfeited.
